My brother is walking right now and has need of cash to tide him over a few weeks until his next pay check gets deposited.

What is the best way to send him money. He cannot get money out using PayPal.

Thank you.

Hi Radhika
I am not an expert but direct transfer into his bank account could be one way. I have just checked the internet and Western Union has offices around the world for money transfers. Hope this helps with the situation.
Regards John

With Western Union it works well but costs, also you have to nominate a single post office to draw the money, give details etc. Paying/transferring cash into the account he has been accessing might be better and also cost less.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I did this in Barcelona two months ago. Use Western Union. It is costly. The money can be picked up at any outlet, most of which are post offices in Spain. The service may be available only in larger cities. Your brother will need his passport and the correct code, which you will get from Western Union, and will need to pass on to him.

NicoZ, if it were that easy. His bank, Chase, has no branches where I live. Western union looks like a good option.

Could you deposit money into his account via some kind of internet banking? I am able to deposit funds into the account of anyone in New Zealand this way, whichever bank they use.

If he does online banking, and you too...then you can etransfer by email him. All he needs is internet and then later an ATM

He can send you a "money request" from his Chase account that goes to your email address with a transaction number. You then log in to Chase and using that transaction number and your own credit card or debit card or whatever put money into his account. We have done this successfully numerous times.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
