Camino - Sarria to Santiago in four days
Hi there, I am doing my first camino soon. My flight gets into Santiago airport at 4:20pm on a Saturday. Is it easy to get from the airport to Sarria at that time? Are there direct buses/trains? Thanks!

I'm starting my first camino on Sept 3 and will be taking the two buses to Sarria. I'm wondering if I should purchase tickets ahead of time for the trip to - and especially from Santiago - since I will need to be at the airport early for an 8:30 am flight (only need to take one bus to the airport, but still concerned since I MUST be on the first bus in the morning to get there in time). Excited and a bit nervous.... but mostly very thrilled to take this journey!

I wouldn't bother purchasing tickets ahead of time, myself.
In September, you should have no problems getting a bus ticket at the station.

Also, consider just nabbing a taxi from the airport to Sarria if you can round up another 2 or 3 pilgrims to share the €100 fare with you.

Thank you. Any advice on the best way to round up pilgrims at the airport? I suppose I could look for folks with backpacks and be bold and ask if they're headed to Sarria? Or maybe there's a message board?

Well, one way would be to post a message on this forum with your date and time of arrival.
You could also post on my FB group Pilgrims Helping Pilgrims if you like.
And yes, looking for arriving pilgrims and just speaking with them directly is also good :)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
