Hey everyone! We're excited to announce we're starting regular pilgrim Meet-Ups here in Santiago. These will be times to come in, meet other pilgrims (or see them again if you already met on the trail!), share stories from your Camino, and hang out.

The first one for English-speaking pilgrims will be this Thursday, September 18, from 6pm - 8pm at:

Pilgrim House Welcome Center
Rúa Nova, 19
Santiago de Compostela

Rúa Nova is located close to the Cathedral, one street over from Rúa Vilar. Rúa Vilar is where you'll find the Pilgrim's Office and receive your Compostela after you arrive in Santiago.

We have a small kitchenette so feel free to bring in a snack to prepare.

Pilgrim House services will still be open during this time, and as always all pilgrims are welcome to come in at any time during our opening hours. We hope to start Meet-Ups for pilgrims who speak other languages, too - stay tuned for those if you're not interested in an English Meet-Up.

Hope to see you here if you're in town this week, and Buen Camino!

Hola - just for the sake of accuracy in case anyone got confused by my earlier post on this subject. I think this is a really great initiative and anything which brings more services for pilgrims to Santiago is worth supporting. But Nate wrote to me following my original post about this asking me to delete a couple of words which he felt were inadequate in describing their mission. Sorry about that. Best to use their own words:

"We are establishing Pilgrim House Welcome Center and hostel where pilgrims can come in, tell us their stories, have their practical needs met, and hear about Jesus' love, goodness, and forgiveness.

Through the Pilgrim House ministry, we want to provide pilgrims with time and space to debrief their journey, gather together, and connect with God. The opportunity is great to serve them in practical ways as well as invite them to consider placing their trust in Jesus."
