Security strikes at airports in Spain

Barcelona airport has been in chaos for several weeks now as security people work to rule. Now the threat is moving to other airports, A Corunya has agreed to wait until 24th September and Santiago is discussing what to do. The airports are open it simply means that queues to pass through security can be long and people have been arriving 4 hours before their flights to be sure of catching the plane. Santiago and A Corunya are much smaller and usually there is no queue but Santiago, at least, is quite busy at the moment - by Santiago standards anyway- so be aware and don't expect to be able to rush in at the last moment.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Member countries of the Schengen agreement have implemented tighter controls on persons entering or travelling within the Schengen area who are not EU citizens or citizens of a country that is a co-signee of the Schengen agreement.

If you fall outside those categories expect long delays at airport border control as comprehensive passport, identity, criminal record and other checks will be completed before you are allowed access or egress. Newspapers have carried reports of 3 hour queues for border control. The veracity of such reports have been denied by the authorities in various countries. The impact of the new regulations has been exacerbated by industrial action undertaken by border control personnel in Spain.

Current advice should probably be 'do not book a non-refundable rail or bus ticket until your feet are on the ground'.
