You'll love the Camino from Porto. Just leave at least 2 days to enjoy Porto itself as it is one of the genuine jewels of Europe. You have to tour one of the many port outlets...I recommend Caleb as their tour is authentic and interesting and their port is a good example of the style.

I can't speak for the Coastal route as on my Camino from Lisbon, I took the wonderful Central route, but you'll love this highly recommended Camino and from the convergence in Tui it is a really lovely walk, which I can attest to. But do take the alternative route into Porrino as the original route is just not what you want to walk for half a day.

Getting so excited. Start my first Camino in 2-1/2 weeks . We are walking the coastal route from Porto. It is so great to hear from so many I hope to meet while walking. I’m learning so much about preparation from everyone. Thanks and see y’all soon!
Hi!
As thejoker says Porto is a wonderful City;a place i definitely want to go back to!
The Portuguese people were so kind, friendly and helpful.

If you can fit it into your Camino.
The Espiritual Variant which starts 3km north of Pontevedra (big sign on the left of the main route over a small footbridge)
It is absolutely beautiful best bit of my Coastal will walk it again one day. (Combarro,Armenteira and the Route of Stone and Water plus the Pilgrim boat are a must in my opinion)
Have a wonderful walk :)
Buen Camino

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
