How very kind of you to offer your support. As a first time trekker this September I feel reassured knowing seasoned pilgrims are around and am quite touched seeing how much you and others give back so much. Thank you.Hi there Peregrinos! I am taking ship tomorrow on my way to the Camino - should be at Roncesvalles in the afternoon of the 25th August and will move backwards and forwards between Roncesvalles and Logrono until JennyH from Australia joins me in Pamplona and we will be back at Roncesvalles 5/6th and then may be found almost anywhere on the Camino!
We will be wearing big green first aid backpacks, so easily recognisable. Please DO come and say hello!!

We have a car (though we will also be walking lots of Camino sections - Hurrah!) - Now, disasters happen; the sudden need to get to an airport because there is an emergency at home, an injury that needs hospital attention and no way to get to one, etc, etc - Now, I hope all goes well for you but if you do have a serious problem then message me, saying where you are, what the problem is, and leave your mobile (or the refugio's) number and we will get back to you. I will be checking the forum every day.
If we can get to you, we will - our first aid is free but if your problem involves travelling serious distances we will ask for a contribution towards fuel (only if you have the funds).
Buen Camino!!!!
Thanks David. As other first time pilgrims have noted, I have been touched by the generosity of the experienced. My preparations have bee helped by Jenny and other Sydney Pilgrims.hope to meet you on the Way. Blessings on your Camino.Hi there Peregrinos! Yes, I was reading about it yesterday. I may well make a visit - it already seems to be stirring up a fair amount of controversy, which I suppose is the point.@Magwood - there is a big Banksy exhibition at the old Tropicana - I will miss it but you could go!!

When I've gone to SE Asia, Maggie, I've registered with the US State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program to enter the trip in case of emergency. Don't know if Canada has something similar?Wasn't sure where to put this question. When I volunteer in India, I always register with the Canadian Consulate in Chennai, so that in the event of any emergency, major event, etc. they have record that I am in the country and where. Do any pilgrims do this when they arrive in Spain (or whatever their destination city is)?

Yes Beth we do and I have registered in Canada so they know where I'm going and when. When I go to India, I do the same, but also register in Chennai (India), so know I am there and for how long. Likely never needed, but at least it's on record. Thank you!Sure Lynda (I really need to learn how to attach a link). Here it is: travel.gc.ca/travelling/register. But if I have a chance, I will also register at the Canadian consulate in Madrid. Buen Camino :>)

Okay, because I don't know how to insert a link, just Google registration of Canadians abroad. It should come up.Actually, that address didn't work.
