September temperatures for medicines?

Hello - wow I'm starting a thread on this forum which makes my walk very real!

I take medication that should remain between 15oc and 25oc - room temperature. It also doesn't like wet or humid conditions. I'm sure I'm not the first person to walk with this situation so I was wondering how anyone else has coped/resolved this.

Any tips welcome - many thanks

In September you should be fine by just putting it deep in the middle of your backpack, possibly in an insulated bag / little box. That should take care of the humidity and the temperature required. I was always surprised how cool to the touch my things were that I had buried deep in my backpack ;-) Buen Camino! SY

Hi LesBrass, by starting a thread, you've taken the first of many Camino plunges!

I don't have any experience with carying medications like you describe, but I can't tell you how many times my special treat chocolate bar became a puddle after a day in the backpack. Maybe placing it deep in the middle of the pack will work, but I think I'd test this at home before leaving if I were you. Remember you are likely to be walking (if you're walking the Frances, at least) with the sun shining on your back for most of the day. I'm wondering if storing it in a small pack in front of your body would make a better temperature more likely. September has been a very hot month in recent years, so I wouldn't count on cool breezes while walking. Good luck with this, Laurie

I'd look into gadgets that keep diabetic supplies cool. Check out diabetic supply websites. I use to carry insulated insulin kit packs.

Hello and thank you very much for the replies.

Peregrina2000 - I love the comparison to chocolate supplies :)

I've have had a quick look through amazon and found a couple of packs that are insulated so I'll order one and try it out in advance... many thanks for the guidance
