You all probably know about this bit of kit, but its new to me.
I recently bought an ipad mini wifi only to replace an aging Nexus 7, thinking "this will be a good tablet to take on camino" to read books, skype, wifi and gps. I wish like a lot of others I had checked out its gps functionality first, as for all intents and purposes its unusable.
You can purchase from a major shopping site a "Garmin GLO" (cost £87 next day delivery) which is a bluetooth gps receiver, which when paired with the ipad makes for a great gps system.
I have used the above with Wikiloc (with the paid for navigation pack) and it works really well.
Check out "openrunner.com" for routes.
Regards
George

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
An iPad Mini wifi does not have a GPS but a cellular iPad Mini does have GPS. Even when there is no cell service, or no SIM, the GPS still works. It's an excellent tool for the purpose of tracking and maps, and works even better when there is cell service, and of course, for books, email, Internet searches, etc. However, the extra expense is perhaps not worth it to most. I used my iPhone exclusively on the Camino.
