As I see many entries and responses to queries, especially from new members...I am always taken with the heartfelt and sincere desire of Forum members to encourage (and sometimes...discourage) the aspirations some may have about walking the Way.
In the balance, the Camino is the final arbitrator of how any pilgrim will experience the Way.
Some pilgrims walk...hoping for a life/direction change...some to loose some weight...others to find a kindred spirit and others...maybe just to find themselves.
I believe if you start any endeavor with a preconceived set of goals, wants or desires...you are setting the bar either too high, or too low.
Deciding to walk is a good thing. Purchasing a ticket is a concrete thing. Taking that first step is just that...a first step.
And, arriving in Santiago, attending the Pilgrim Mass...Compostela in hand is not the end, but the beginning of the rest of your life.

Buen Camino,

Arn

Hi Jan, I start the day before you but will probably see you along the way as I am a slow walker. I stay at Orisson the first night. Have a great journey Peregrino. Helen
