My preference is for the fall. It will have less rain than Spring. Crowds are likely to be about the same. Toss a coin!

My camino companion and I will be first time pilgrims and are debating the better time of year to walk the Camino Frances - March/April or Sept/Oct?
We walked the Camino in Sept/Oct had only one day of rain. You can guess my vote.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I've walked in the spring all but once (Aragonés end-Sept-Oct--it rained!). I don't mind the rain, if it's not 'endless'. And I love the green, the wild flowers and the herbs along the Camino Francés, and Mar-April is cool and not too crowded. Notre Dame Ind?? I studied at Portland U--greetings! and Buen Camino any time of the year!

It is depending on what you like to see/find on the Camino. If you like to be together with other Pelgrims enjoy the weather and some festivals during the harvest season then sept is a good start. If you like to be challenged on the weather side and find it ok to meet less people then March is is great starting point. I have walked the Camino at every season (because I couldn't do it in one time) and I enjoyed every step. Whatever choice you will make, it will be a good one, enjoy! Buen Camino :)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Walked from Pamplona to Burgos in March and went back in September to finish. Had a couple of very wet days each trip but mostly the weather was good. In March there can still be snow on the ground in the mountains. The biggest difference I found was the early mornings. In spring it gets lighter each morning so usually bright by 7am. In September each morning is darker and as we got closer to October it was after 8 before it got bright. You will miss a lot of scenery but look back and you will see amazing sunrises. As for temperatures, hottest day we had in March was 22C, in September high 3os but most days were just right for walking. The one really hot day convinces me that spring or autumn are best

Going to do Camino this year, but I may also look to do it again Fall 2015. If luck and timing works, I will be living in Madrid, so I won't have as far to travel to the start.
