St Crispin's day and pilgrims feet.

Today is the feast day of St Crispin who was the patron saint of shoemakers, leather workers and cobblers....so, as most pilgrims spend inordinate amounts of of time fretting about their footwear, perhaps we should look to St Crispin for help?

Along with a host of others (a bit like poor old Pluto being demoted from being a planet).....but I still keep 'local time' with those familiar saints associated with wells, shrines, and mountain tops of my childhood.

Thank you very much.
I guess like scruffy, as soon as I read this I was compelled to seek out and read this wonderful Shakespearean monologue again.
Several times.
What a delight and great friend our Shakespeare is.
But then I remembered my teacher telling us how Shakespeare was meant to be spoken and heard, and his great literature combined with great acting.

To the English camp then!

Thank you Gerardcarey for putting the video on - it was great to see and hear! I was taught the speech when I was 3 years old (along with the 'Once more into the breach' one) but have never heard it performed. I was made to stand on a chair and recite it - I never had a clue what it was about . But it did give me a yen for memorizing poetry! Seeing this has made me want to watch the whole play/film - so thanks!
