Stage 28

Time of past OR future Camino
04/2024
Does anyone have good advice for Stage 28 on where to avoid and best lodging. I mean towards the more peaceful areas. Thanks in advance!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

If I remember, stage 28 is approximatively between stage 27 and stage 29.
But I am not sure, it has been a long time since I was there.

Being a slow walker who smells the Roses, that would be my stage 38 I'm guessing

I suspect that @elajenki might be asking about Triacastela to Sarria on the Frances?
Either of the two options is good I think.......

Maybe folks could just ask the poster to clarify what they mean. He or she only has a handful of posts.

Is it stage 28 on the CF, Norte, VDLP, Vezelay, Le Puy? The answer is who knows and it is fun to have some fun while he can easily post where he is and where he wants to go. Learning to be specific, especially on this forum can cut down on needless information because the OP has not made their questions clear enough.

Yes it’s great fun! Inexperienced folks don’t know the questions to ask!!

Not to get into a pissy match about this. If having a little fun with the person is such a capital crime and my stunt his/her emotional and spiritual development, there are far more profound issues that what I said. By the answers the OP is getting the inexperienced folks may just learn how to ask a question clearly to get the answer that he/she needs.

I think Stage 28 is where the Harry Potter movies were filmed.

I searched out her posts. She was planning to start the Frances from SJPdP on April 3rd. My assumption is that she means either Brierley's or Gronze's Stage 28.

Robo probably has it dialed in correctly.
More than likely given how many use these two guides. i.e. Triacastela to Sarria.
My Michelin guide has O Cebreiro to Triacastela as its Stage 28 though.

If it is Tricastela to Sarria I would say both route choices are beautiful and fairly quiet. If you have time I would take the Samos route and stay there for the night. You can go to the Monastery for a tour which is interesting and later attend evensong there. When I was there (end of Sept '24) Samos was quiet. Then I suggest you walk on past Sarria and maybe stay at Barbadelo. This would reduce your exposure to the large number of new (and excited) pilgrims that start in Sarria. Plus you could get ahead of the crowd the following morning. For the last 100km, on the Camino Frances, it will be quieter staying in the smaller places between the bigger towns.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
