Stay in refugios?

I am reading a book about the Camino and the author writes that the pilgrims pass allows you to stay in a refugio just one night. Is it right?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

OK. Thank you for the quick answer. But is it possible to spend a day in town and in the evening go back to the refugio (if I want to sightseeing a day)?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
No going back to the refugio, but you could stop at the closest refugio before town or the closest after often only a few km .

You will not be able to leave your backpack though so if you want a day sightseeing in Burgos or Leon it is probably best to find a cheap pension/hostal for the second night.
