I like that couples can find bunk beds pushed together for comfort and companionship, but for the first time, I have twice had neighbours sharing a single bunk. The problem is..... The supressed sounds of intimacy tend to be rather obvious. This I found both embarrassing and unpleasant. Are there general rules in municipal alberques, or am I being over sensitive? I throw this open to the forum, and welcome advice in case I have amorous neighbours again. PS. Hanging towels down the sides of the bunk bed has no effect.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I suspect that showing your appreciation by applauding their efforts, and maybe a cheer or two, would be bad form?

Ha Purky ! A fellow pilgrim and I did just that when we " encountered " an amoureux couple in an albergue...Yes we were evil :D but it had immediate effect : really quiet after that.

I remember on my first Camino in 2011 in Vega de Valcarce where I took a private room so I could have some good sleep before tackling O' Cebreiro. A young German couple stayed in the room next to me for some quality personal time...I did not sleep well at all...But I learned some new German words...;)

Jokes aside, yes, it is completely unacceptable behaviour, thankfully reports of this happening are anecdotal/rare. And no, you are not overly sensitive. I would just go over to them and recommend in a lot voice a nice pension/hotel as in, yes, DO get a room! Buen Camino, SY

Your a brave woman S would they even hear you

So this happened to me also, a young couple in love, late afternoon, everyone just relaxing and re-doing their packs and hanging laundry inside since it was raining. They were in a top bunk together.
We thought it would be appropriate to just tell the hostess, so she was summoned.
She brought her registration log.
She tapped on their feet, intertwined, and they stuck their head out and spoke briefly with her, then pulled the covers back over.
The hostess said "They are both registered, and they are almost done. Let them have a few more minutes."
I went down and had a glass of vino tinto, and read my book in the bar. Other occupants of the room left to do various chores.
The couple emerged after a while and were not even embarrassed.
I just don't get people sometimes.

Hope it wasn't the Beckahams or else the next Child will be called Leon or Burgos.......

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I think it's incredibly romantic and refreshing.

Like a child's laughter, a happy dog wagging its tail when it's owner arrives home, birds celebrating spring with a happy courting song.... It's a wonderful to be able to share in others joy (no sexual innuendo intended) and be reminded what its like to be in love or lust or both what ever the case may be.

Cheers to those that celebrate life and abundance with such exuberance.

May we all be so blessed to never let someone's joy cause us sorrow.

Buen Camino

Ha Kieran , reminds me of the next story. Years ago I met a lady who was a very busy international consultant flying the world for her business. As was her husband. So sometimes they saw each other only for a weekend every two months. They met where possible. So one time in Madrid : nine months later there was a babygirl named Madrid. It could have been Valladollid , Ciudad Rodrigo or Badajoz so all in all Madrid is not that bad :D

I hope the family name is not Catalonia or Valencia or Ohio or other places. Aside from having a skewed address for a name, the poor girl might be required other identification documents in addition to her passport, I.D. card and driver's license ;);) to get her compostela.
