Andy

Andy, an excellent piece of technology, all the more so as one piece can be applied to both metric and imperial measure, thus avoiding the need to carry two, and thereby saving on weight.

Writing from Villafranca del Bierzo, where I find myself tonight, and speaking with the authority bestowed upon me by the past 28 days, I can say that the answer to "How far have I travelled?" is "Exactly far enough to bring you to this precise location ". Similarly, the answer to "How much do I have yet to travel?" is "Exactly enough to get you to Santiago".

wait...what??? in that case, the joint metric/imperial measure feature far outweighs the first version glitches. I must have one!

distance is a bit like temperature. It all depends on how you feel. A room at 20 will feel hot one day and cold the next depending on the day. 20km is to loooooong if your tired and short if feeling energetic. I like to have the "corrected" for altitude type distance at the start of the day to try and decide where best to stop for breaks etc. Or at least to be able to judge the first stop..... Never before 8k. Knowing the distance from sdc of the end of your planned stage is handy to know as you can then have an idea of how long you have left. Other days I love the I will be able to walk forever feeling. That's the end if y rambling post

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
