Haha! Edited, though I was tempted to leave it as it was.Offering nice what? I'm on the edge of my seat!
Arg. I was coming to PH today...and it is Wednesday. My mistake. (Heads-up all: Pilgrim House is closed on Wednesday.Welcome back to town, VN! Great photos. Glad you got to enjoy the silence of the morning.
A few commemts, prompted by an 'is it worth it' question, and just because there may be interest...
On a rainy day, early in the morning, there is a special feeling here. It's 'normal,' rather than a zoo. But pilgrims still walk into the plaza, to dance, weep, or just have a quiet moment ib the rain before the cathedral.
And for those who may be wondering what it looks like inside...well, restoration is in full swing. But you can venerate the relics, give Santiago a hug of gratitude, light a candle, and go to mass at the Santa Maria chapel. It's definitely a different atmosphere, but all necessary to keep the shrine in good shape for years to come - and so the on the next holy year the cathedral is in as good shape as possible.
Pilgrim's mass af the Church of San Francisco is a joy, free of the camera-snapping crowds. The people who were threre were there to give thanks, not to gawk at a spectacle. And if you go back to the sacristy, they are offering nice certificates.

Absolutely.Calculate more time (when job allows) in SdC
And? The Compostela for the lost Credencial? You can also use Your companion’s details for finding proof - although we ALL approve, knowing the TRUTH! (Capitals being used against the rules of the Forum!)Absolutely.
A couple of days at least.
And as an addandum to all that:
This rainy day at about 09.40, there was one (1!!!) person ahead of me in the queue at the Pilgrim's office.
The nerve of him.
No problemo. It helped to have friends to smooth the way. Thank you @Alan Pearce .The Compostela for the lost Credencial?
How rude of me not to say hello. Sorry @Paladina, it'd have been fun to meet. Not me! Quite apart from the obvious disclaimer that I’m female, I really don’t need any more compostelas, but if I had known you were in the plaza when I was I would have been delighted to meet the author of so many valuable posts.

I also don't need the paper, but that's the only way to get the one more Invierno pilgrim for the statistics.
I was trying to joke...Not rude at all, since neither of us knows what the other looks like.
Thanks!I hope you find your missing credencial.
Sad I’ll miss @VNwalking by 3 days, but I’ll be in for a visit next week! Not WednesdayMaybe see you tomorrow? Nate will be in all day (10am - 7pm), and I can come in for a bit in the morning, too!
