I want to share with you something I've just heard, a gesture of charity that apparently is more and more outspread: the pending coffee. You may also find it as "suspended coffee".
Check the link below (you may find many others):

It appears that the 31st of May is the Coffee Pending Day. I'll be on the Camino by then and I'll definitely promote this inspirational idea.

All the best,
S

Sempervivum, I read your post just now and have to admit that I have never heard of this kind gesture. This is something easy to practice along the Camino any day, but to have a designated day makes more of us aware on how simple it is to be more giving! Thank you!

Hi, Mary,
I think that many of us haven't heard of it! Since than, being interested in the subject, I found that in my own town there are a few coffee bars that are encouraging the practice and the young people are quite involved in it! Happy to know, willing to do it!
Thank you,
S

You know? Doing something like this wherever you live is a great way of starting a tradition of giving, - even if it´s a cup of coffee, to the needy! Plus a very simple way to teach kids to give without expecting something in return. Thanks so much for the awareness you bring to this S!
