The Route Napoleon is NOT closed permanently in winter but it is advised against when weather conditions are bad.

Be sure to read this comprehensive earlier Forum thread on walking in winter. Heavy snow can fall even as late as April. Be prepared!!

You will have to wing it from Muxia to A Coruna; there is no established walking trail. There are buses, so you should be able to find a combination of highways and country roads that go there. Accommodations will be hostales and pensiones.

We cycled from Finisterra to La Coruna on small lanes and tracks, via Vimianzo (interesting castle, Santos Pizzeria on west of town very cheap rooms, good food & wine) There are few villages and many don't have shops so make sure you have food. Churches usually have taps. Good luck,
