The horrific train crash just outside of Santiago is so close to home for so many of us.

This is the same train my daughter used to take regularly, when she was living in Madrid and wanted to visit Galicia. My wife and I took the RENFE trains only just recently after I finished my Camino.

Shocking tragedy like this sometimes happens outside our immediate sphere, but this one is very close and very immediate. And to make the tragedy worse, on the eve of St. James' Day, a time for celebration. How truly devastating.

My thoughts and prayers to anyone affected.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I am so saddened by this news. Prayers said for all affected.

I feel the same. I am planning to attend St James mass here in London. It will be very different now, but a good occassion to pray for all of them who have been affected. My sincere condoleances for all the passengers who have died.

Hello, my shoes are pretty down and worn out now with holes in it. As it is rainy these days I won’t make it to Fisterra with dry feet. Can you recommend a good shop for shoes in Santiago...
