Looking to book a train from Santiago to Madrid in late June and there are no trains on any day even today on the Renfe site? Queries to Renfe generate an error. Does anyone know what is happening?

I had the same results as you, and then read somewhere that you cannot buy Renfre tickets more than one month in advance. So I waited and voila! It worked.

There's been an issue with booking several months now. There are difficulties with the construction in Madrid at the Chamartín station so while there are supposed to be the same number of seats available, the times are limited. I suggest you keep checking to see when train availability is released. Don't get discouraged!

I just bought a ticket from SdC to Madrid for the first week in June - tickets for the date I’m traveling became available only in the last week or so, i.e. six weeks before my travel date. You might want to check the Renfe site again six weeks before your travel date to see if they’re available then.

schedules don't go up until 6-8 weeks prior. sometimes even 4 weeks.
