Train Schedules Barcelona to Pamplona ...
today, 25 January 2020 ... IS THAT too soon to Book a Triain Ticket departing for 17 April Barcelona to Pamplona?
I have tried and get a response like NO TRAINS FOUND.

It's too early. Tickets won't be available for another month at least. Here's the official web site (in case you're using some other site): http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html

Not to worry in any event. We bought our Barcelona - Pamplona tickets at the train station in Barcelona, just before our departure.

All good ... even more so as I qualify big time re the +60 discount!

Any further info re BUS to SJPdP ... can I buy a Bus ticket on the SJPdP Bus?

On ‘Rail Europe’ (was Loco2) you can register to be notified when tickets for a particular day/route combination are released.

If I remember correctly the discount was not available on all fare categories. Subsequent years I didn't bother as the tourist fares were more cost effective. The Renfe website was easy to navigate and quite informative. Buen camino.

If I recall correctly, tickets aren't available until 90 days before? Make sure that you are on a website that offers tickets for that route - e.g., i am currently looking for tickets from Madrid to Olviedo (Camino Primitivo), and Renfe does not run a direct train for that route, but Alvia does. There's a website called 'Seat61', which is a good resource for european/Spain train travel. I took the bus from Pomplona to SJPP, and booked that ahead of time. The bus station is not far (2 - 3 kilometers?) from the train station. I walked, but you could as well take a taxi. Note that the bus station in Pomplona is underground.

We experienced the same issue last year and couldn't purchase a train ticket from Barcelona to Pamplona until 60 days out. Ultimately we could and it was a pleasant ride to Pamplona. We bought bus tickets from Pamplona to St Jean on line as well (Alsa or Omio.) Bob

Keep checking regularly to see when Renfe releases the next block of tickets (i.e., to watch for ticket availability on the date you wish to travel). Be aware that tickets are the least expensive when they first go on sale and gradually increase as your travel date approaches. Significant savings can be had if you buy your ticket as soon as they are posted on the Renfe site.

That's what I've done, and was able to purchase tickets in the first class car very inexpensively.
