Hi, all! I’m setting off on the Camino again, and some companions are meeting us in Triacastela on 28 March to walk with us. What’s the best way of traveling from Madrid to Triacastela that doesn’t use up an additional day of travel?

I’ve looked on all the usual sites (Renfe, Alsa, Rome2Rio, Blablacar), and they all seem overly complicated since Triacastela is a smaller town. Any creativity is appreciated!

Buen camino!

I was very lucky after flying into Santiago on my way to Triacastela to continue from where I had finished the previous year?
There was a large group of ladies on the same flight heading to Sarria and I asked if I could pay for a seat on their bus ? They wouldn't hear of any payment and I got to Sarria in no time and there I rang a taxi number taken from a cafe window and a lovely Spanish taxi man dropped me at my Albergue in Triacastela.

Was the bus a charter or a public bus route? What was the company? I checked Alsa and they do not seem to have trajectory Santiago to Sarria. Thank you ~
I will be doing the same soon ~ I walked SJPP to O Cebreiro last spring and needed to stop due to tendinitis.

The girls had booked a private transfer and the driver was happy enough to let me tag along at no extra charge. It was just pure luck really but my daughter a month earlier had simply approached a few girls carrying rucksacks at the carousel and asked if they would like to share a taxi to Sarria which is where most people head to from the airport and they split the cost Another idea perhaps?

Thanks so much! I think MonBus has a public bus that runs SdeC to Triacastela ~

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi, I had to start there some time back and took a Train from Madrid Chamartín to Sarria and taxi to Triacastella. If memory serves me correctly it was train around lunchtime and I had time to transfer from the airport.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
