Transportation from Portomarin to Lugo

Time of past OR future Camino
Starting a piece 10July 2016
We will end our walk for now in Portomarin, due to time issues. We would like to get to Lugo to get a train to A Coruna. Is there a bus from Portomarin to Lugo or other public transportation? We are having a hard time finding this on the web. Many thanks, Caryn

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hi Caryn McHarney-Brown! Welcome to the forum!

Empresa Portomarín (www.empresaportomarin.com) is the main bus operator from Portomarín to Lugo. Their web offers schedules for the route from Portomarín to Lugo as well as for the route from Portomarín to Sarria although it wouldn't be a bad idea to confirm them just in case it had been any changes and their web wasn't (fully) updated. The schedules from Portomarín to Sarria can be specially useful on Saturdays and Sundays if the schedule of the direct bus from Portomarín to Lugo doesn't suit you. Once in Sarria, you could take another bus to Lugo with www.monbus.es or a train with www.renfe.com

In additión to Empresa Portomarín's bus service from Portomarín to Lugo, www.monbus.es has a daily except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (i.e.: the bus runs from Mondays to Fridays except on public holidays) bus from Portomarín to Lugo.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thank you so much. My husband found the monbus site after an hour of searching! We will be there on a Wed. -so I think it will work. Thanks for the other sites-we will check them also. Bien Camino. Caryn
