Travois or rolling pack?

I wasn't able to walk as much as I wanted/hoped last year . . . and had to ship my backpack ahead when I resumed walking after a knee problem. I am hoping/planning to walk again in 2016, so am beginning to look at pack alternatives to what I used last fall. The doctor(s) I have talked to have suggested a much lighter pack and overall a lot less weight, shipping ahead again, or another alternative - thus my question. I did see a couple from France at one point on the Meseta with rolling packs hooked to a waist strap . . . like a travois behind a dog/horse. Anyone used one of these? How successful was it for you?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I met some old French people on the Arles route with home-made convertible roller packs which went on their backs when it got tough rolled when it wasn'troller1.JPG roller3.JPG roller4.JPG .

For what they charge for these devices, it would be cheaper to pay for baggage transport services.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Take a look at http://rolling-backpack.de/ It is made by a pilgrim we met on the Camino last year as he and his wife were testing the prototypes for the final production model. I have no commercial involvement in this product, other than to say that Helmut and Anette are very nice people.
Buen Camino,

I think it's a great idea. You could easily make one based on the principle of a home made Pulk. A Pulk is a sled designed to be pulled behind someone on skis. You are only limited by your imagination and skills with tools. I personally would go with a 20" tire either one or 2. If you've got the means, build it from titanium. Keep us posted.

The rolling backpack is €360! It would be cheaper to pay for bag transport services, it would be worth it if you walked several Caminos or through hikes.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
