Elmundo and ABC report that Rabanal yesterday hosted a tribute to hospitalero Julian Field and Jose Manzano, killed in train accident almost two years ago in Villada (Palencia). Julian Field had spent long periods as hospitalero in Rabanal . There, next to the portico of the church, a small bust reminded this exemplary person who left a life of comfort to devote to the needy.
Three photographers, who walked to Santiago several times and shared many hours of conversation with Field, have compiled a small book containing his vision of the pilgrimage with a selection of photos, dotted with small sentences and thoughts.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Blimey... Doesn`t seem like two years ago. I was in Castrojeriz when I first heard. Terrible news, but this, I feel is a fitting tribute. RIP
