Trying Yet Again

Time of past OR future Camino
Sept-Oct 2016/July 2018/Sept-Oct 2022
Hey, world.
I'm going to return in August of 2022. Unless the Theta variant kicks in.
That's NOT a real thing ... just a poor attempt at being funny. I'm very respective of this odd virus, though, as a university professor, so think that it's important to pay attention to everything related to it.
Long ago in a galaxy far, far away, I snapped my ACL coming down the hills into Ponferrada in 2018. So many of you were supportive, helpful, and kind while I whined ... or shared ... my story. Thank you!
I've healed, had surgery, am am training to do the entire Camino Frances, the powers-that-be willing.
My hope, in posting now, is to simply say it's important to do what we do, whether we are purest pilgrims, tourists, unbelievers, believers, lost souls, etc., etc. It does not matter. Honest! We're here. That's what is most important.
Yikes, a dull, gray, cold, Chicago day is getting the best of me. That said ... I'm so glad for this place. Nervousness describes my Camino planning, of course, and also gratitude.
I can't wait.
Be well, take care, and thank you.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you!

"We're here. That's what is most important." The essence indeed!
Cheers from a dull and grey Belgium.

Happy planning!
Ah, I LOVE Belgium! I lived in Leuven for six years! In fact, before starting my trek in August of 2022, I plan on spending a few days in, "the little gray country." Tot ziens! Sorry ... I lived in the Flemish region! Be well and thanks for responding.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

What a coincidence. Studied and lived in Leuven for quite a while.
Always welcome in Flanders!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

August is a while away yet, Christopher. In the meantime, every day a little bit of prep in walking and buiding stamina will set you up. You only have this very minute, live it deeply! (I was once in Chicago, the hard snow days of January 1978. Dear God, was I petrified being driven around with banks of hard snow on both sides of the car, with fire hydrants frozen over on the footpaths...! )

So happy for you and your upcoming Camino! Can't wait to be back on the trails again.
