My wife and I started in Bilbao last week Saturday. Now we are one day past Santander and I will point people who are behind us to two Treasures :
1) Two german Caminofriends who are also walking the Norte and are about a week in advance of us buried a piece of chocolate for us. It should be near a stairs, on what you can leave the beach, it should be just before Santander. We did not find it, so it should still be there. The finding place is marked: it is a heart written in the sand with our names on it. "Aukje und Ton". So if you come across this heart feel free to dig up the chocolate.
If you find it, it would be nice to report back to this thread.
2 As we don't know how tar we will come on the Camino we chose to take the long road out of Santander It is not marked, but that is not necessary because you just follow the coast. It is really a jewel. The only disadvantage we foünd that the total distance as given in my wikilocroute to me seems incorrect. It looks.to be more than 32 kilometer. When we thought we would be near our destination ( Soto de la Marina) we were told we had to walk about 10 km. Luckily there was a village nearby where we could arrange a taxi. Still this trail.is reallY beautifully.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

My group of six arrives in Irun on May 20 and we're starting our Camino on May 21. Since it's the beginning of the busy season, I'm wondering if we should order trekking poles from Amazon Espana...
Elevation map shows this is really steep! What’s the best way from downtown Hondarribia up there? Then wish me luck on the Purgatorio—I am a nervous wreck.
On the Norte...started Morgo headed to Santilanna del mer...today...wonderful walk.... 1st 7k and last 7k ...the middle industrail zone was meh. Just past polonca met loverly local spanish...
If anyone is in an albergues in or near Santillana del mar on the 1st of May and comes across Nadia from Ottawa would they kindly point her in the direction of this thread. Thanks all.....
