Walking for a deceased friend

I'm planning to walk in honour of a friend of mine who died two years ago, a couple of month after he decided to walk to Santiago. Being a theologian, he was very serious about it. He even bought a pilgrims staff during a visit to Vézelay, a couple of months before his dead. I must have read somewhere that its possible to have his name mentioned on your compostela, but I'm not sure and the Dutch association couldn't confirm this. Maybe some of you can.

Hello

I think that dedicating your pilgrimage to your friend is a powerful memorial. There is a long tradition of this and all you have to do at the Pilgrims' Office is explain that you would like your Compostela dedicated in this way. Because the Compostela is a document personal to each pilgrim they will write you name in Latin and then add Vicarie Pro (your friend's name).

I hope this helps
