- Time of past OR future Camino
- CF 2023 sept/Oct
Primitivo July 2024
Hello all
I'm Dave, I live on the beautiful little island of Jersey and will be walking the Camino Frances starting end of September. I lost my dog Flora Navarra earlier this year, and this is the main driving force behind me undertaking this journey, and I am walking to raise money for the charity Spanish Stray Dogs UK where Flora came from so other people can be lucky enough to have a dog so special that their loss makes you need to walk 500 miles across Spain.
It's not by chance I chose the Camino. For our amazing 8 years together me and Flora criss-crossed the various Camino routes during our epic adventures across our beloved Northwest Spain which became our home away from home. In between our trips, many weekends would be spent watching Camino movies and reading Camino books with that longing to one day be lucky enough to tread this most famous and sacred path in the footsteps of those that have gone before.
So that is how I arrive here today. Like probably a lot of people I thought I knew everything I needed to know from the books/films/documentaries, but that is so not the case, and this forum is such a wealth of knowledge and kind people. So thank you to you all for contributing and helping so many people like myself
