Walking the coastal route From Porto

Time of past OR future Camino
2010, 2015 2016, 2020 postponed 2021 planning
Heidi,
We recently started a "Coastal Route from Lisbon" section of the Camino Portugues, so I've moved this thread to that location. As you'll see if you look at the map on the site linked by Isca-camino above, though, this camino really doesn't spend much time at all on the coast.

But Aurelio provided a link to another trail, Trilho das Areias, which is directly on the coast.

I walked along the ocean from Á Guarda to Vigo in Spain or the Camino Atlantico then cut into Redondela to hook up with the route coming up from Tui. Easy to follow. .. Keep the Atlantic Ocean on my left. As getting there from Portugal, the official boats weren't operating .. Some dispute as to which country is going to dredge the harbor.... People have posted that one can hire a local boat man to take you over. Or go to Tui and hike, or bus to Á Guarde. Amazing Celtic Castro ruins there. Not crowded but many places to stay. Best to your Camino. Elin

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

hello, i will start camino portugal coast from porto in five days.

We will begin the Camino de la Costa out of Porto (Cathedral) on Sept 19. Will walk along the Douro and up the coast using the John Brierley Guide (2016 edition). This latest addition now has the Coastal Route map and lodging resources in it. Would be happy to hear from anybody else who plans to be walking during that September timeframe.
