Wall plug adaptors

Planning on walking the Camino.
Coming from Australia, will I need wall plug adaptors?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
What countries are you visiting in addition to Spain where you expect to use electrical devices? The Type I plug used in Australia, NZ etc is not used in Europe, and there are a total of 15 different plug and socket profiles around the world.

I used to have a multi-country adaptor. Now for my smartphone/tablet/camera with a USB input, I simply use a cheap USB power adaptor I've bought in Spain, available everywhere. Much lighter than a multi-country adaptor or piggybacking an Australian adaptor onto a European plus, and it costs very few Euros. Mine has the benefit of two USB outlets, which means I can share a power point with others.

You can buy them on eBay before you leave if you want - here is one

Hardware stores and "China" stores have plug adapters in Spain. You won't need a converter, just the plug adapter.
The problem is finding a "China Bazaar" in the early stages of the Camino. If you start in SJPP you will easily find a power adapter in Pamplona but I didn't see any stores during the first couple of days selling those things. There were probably stores in SJPP selling them, its a nice size town, but we arrived fairly late and left early so very few were open!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

One spot to try for an adapter in SJPdP is the Maison Garicoix, located just off the camino on the rue d'Uhart. See more here in their web.

The problem is that it has relatively short hours of operation, closes at 7pm, doesn't open until 9am the next morning, and is close for 4 hours during mid-day.

For pilgrims who arrive later in the day this place will likely be closed when they get there, closed when they depart.

Honestly I think the best option is to buy what you need at home and bring it with you.

If you fly into mainland Europe, you can buy multi USB plugs in pretty much any airport you land in. Not the cheapest spot, but always there and long opening hours. They are compatible in all western Europe excluding UK and Ireland. Don't know for eastern Europe as haven't been there yet.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
I think you can get the PLUG adapter - which is best and cheapest - at the pilgrim shop across and a bit down from the pilgrim office in SJPdP. If not ask at the pilgrim office!
Buen camino!

I would buy it in Aus as Australian plug adaptors will be less common in Europe than UK or USA ones and universal adaptors are larger and heavier. You should be able to get the lightest one at home.

Kanga's suggestion of a locally bought USB adaptor is a good idea if you are just using it to charge a phone, tablet or camera, many of them have 2 USB points.
