Welcome to the forum @Anna McBride Dorwart.

Lots of reasons why one would take a taxi, but do you need to see the bus timetables? I think there is a Xunta of Galicia bus, that supposedly takes 1 hour and five minutes, and runs 4 times a day. Although I am having trouble downloading the timetable.

There is also eMonteforte (Monbus) which takes a very long time - via a very scenic little tour of Galicia!

I'm relying on Rome2Rio - our local members will have much better information.
