Hi we ate starting the last 100km from Sarria on Dec. Any advice on weather and appropriate gear would be appreciated.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Wind, rain. Snow possible. Maybe even some sunshine.

Good breathable waterproofs, layer-able clothing so that you can easily vary your level of insulation. And shoes / boots that will provide protection against mud and rain and adecent grip on slippery terrain.

Buen camino

There is quite a bit of useful information in various threads from people who have walked in winter. I would add that it is fantastic, but you do need to be prepared, as it is sometimes weather that could actually kill you - it is extremely cold and we were even in one blizzard (which was quite an experience for Australians). But if you read the advice on the forum and are organised it is a very special time to do it.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thanks so much for all the tips and sharing. It will be an experience for us.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
