Hi! I’m starting el camino on june, 5th, I’d like to know what do you think about wearing no sleeves shirts, maybe could be uncomfortable with the backpack?!! I am used to wear this kind of shirts in summer, but no experience with al the gear I have to take for the camino, thanks for your advices!!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I tend to go the other way.........
Long sleeves, wide brimmed hat, lightweight gloves.........
I burn easily ;)

So if you are prone to sunburn, take lots of sunblock........
Thank you Robo!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I walked the Camino Frances once from early June to mid-July. I found it to be the best one weather wise I ever walked. Almost everyday the weather was beautiful. Only two rainy days. Bit chilly, enough to warrant a fleece pullover, at night and first thing in the morning, but otherwise I wore tech t-shirts and shorts everyday I walked.
If you are comfortable wearing sleeveless t-shirts, and the pack straps don't rub your shoulders too much, go ahead and wear them. Maybe have a regular one handy in case, though.
During the warmer (hot) weather Caminos you see pilgrims wearing sleeveless shirts often and some of the younger guys go shirtless.

I always wear long sleeved shirts when backpacking and walking.
1. If the sun is warm or hot, the sleeves will keep you cooler by keeping the direct energy of the sun from hitting your skin. Look at what is worn in desert conditions in sub-Saharan Africa as an example. It also eliminates the need for sun screen.
2. In cooler weather, long sleeves can increase the effective warmth of your base-layer (shirt).
3. In moderate temperatures, the sleeves can be rolled up if desired.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
