Which Detour on Le Puy? Cele or Rocamadour? Pros/Cons?

I read on this forum that the Rocamadour detour takes more time than the Cele detour. I also read that the Cele detour is beautiful but so is the town of Rocamadour.

So.... has anyone been on both or at least one to give comment? Pros/Cons?

Thank you for your input!

I've only walked to Rocamadour (and then returned by train) rather than doing a big loop to join back up with the Le Puy route.

Rocamadour is definitely worth a visit if you have the time. My advice would be to catch the train from Figeac to Roc Amadour Padirac. The train only takes about 35mins but the station is around 5kms from Rocamadour so you have to factor in extra time to reach the village. Preferably stay the night and then train back to Figeac.

That leaves you free to walk through the Valley of the Cele as well. After all, you may never pass that way again.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
