Hello all Camino Pilgrims,
my name is Jagdev and I’m Canadian . I will fly from Toronto into CDG (Paris ) on the morning of April 25th, and then fly on HOP to Biarritz and will be in SJPP sometime in the afternoon ( April 25th). After spending one day (April 26th) in SJPP ,I will start my Camino and will stay the first night at Auberge Borda (April27th) and in Roncesvalles ( April28th) and so on. Would love to meet another pilgrim at SJPP or on the Way to Santiago. This is my first attempt for the Camino, I will be a bit slow ( senior) and alone ( widower) but have determination to accomplish as much as physically possible. But sometime even determination hit a wall , one can’t go through, a mountain ,one can’t climb. I’m a bit apprehensive about the walk to Santiago, but will try with all my physical strength.
I have decide to stay extra day in each place, Pamplona, Logrono, Burgos, Terradillios De Los Templarios, Leon, Ponferrada and Portomarin,..( if I make it that far.)
I’m still looking for to share ride /or train/bus to SJPP from from Biarritz/Bayonne On April 25th.
Thank you all the Pilgrims, hope I will meet some others somewhere on the Way,
keep well, safe journey ,
wishing the best to all of you,
Buen Camino !

Hello Jagdev

We will be 10 days behind you, not starting from SJPP until May 7th. I have heard really good things about Albergue Borda so that should be an excellent way to start your adventure. I really like your list of places to stay an extra day and rest your feet.

Buen Camino!

Hi Jagdev. Welcome to the forum!

You might want to look on this thread to see who else is starting in the same day. Add a post with your date and starting point, and moderators will put you on the list in the first post.

No problem. But it is not too hard, so let's try...

You should simply click on the link that is shown here in bold blue text: this thread . It will take you to the thread I was referring to. Add the same information to a post on that thread.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I bet as soon as you go to the Pilgrim office and get to your albergue you will have met 10 pilgrims not to mention the ones you will meet from Biarritz. May I suggest to take your time. Try to make a reservation in one of the albergues (do it now if you can) around Orisson.
Check out the listings in Bordo, Orisson and Honto. It is a tough walk to Roncesvalles for a first time pilgrim for someone of our delicate age ;). Book in Roncesvalles also. If you are staying in albergues call ahead or make a note if you are reserving online in Roncesvalles that you are a senior. Yo tengo (for me) sesenta ocho anos. Por favor un cama mas baja" Maybe you can speak spanish but if you can't everyone understands that and I always call to request that if I think an albergue may be crowded. I have always been accomadated. I also remind them when Iarrive at the albergue.
Take your time, do shorter days and listen to your body and you will be fine.
