Hi anyone leaving 9th sept from Lisbon?

Hi susiew, I am considering the camino Portuguese from Lisbon next spring. Will you be writing a blog? I would love to know how you get on. I walked the Frances with my daughter this year but would be tackling the Portuguese route solo. I have been following the blog of someone walking at the moment - http://followtheyellowarrows.blogspot.co.uk/, and the route seems rather lonely between Lisbon and Porto, and the first few days out of Lisbon a bit of a hard slog along busy and dangerous roads. I hope you are able to share your experiences
Buen camino

Yes, the route between Lisbon and Porto is not heavily traveled, but the numbers are increasing at a steady pace, as are the accommodations for pilgrims. Another couple currently on the route is blogging here: http://www.squamzen.com/

When I walked in 2009, I didn't meet another pilgrim south of Porto, but I thoroughly enjoyed the many lovely small towns/cities, the Roman ruins, and the wonderful people I met all along the way. It's not for everyone, perhaps, but if you can tolerate the roadside parts and you don't mind being alone, I think it is a very enjoyable camino.

and p.s., the ViaLusitana is working mightily to find off-road alternatives for some of the more unpleasant parts, though as you might guess, this takes a lot of time.
