Strong winds and rain in Santiago right now

150 km/h winds on the coast, a bit less in Santiago but still strong wind. Heavy rain.

See this webcam live here.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I remember Santiago in the rain when the cascades from the waterspouts on the cathedral were meeting the pavement 2-3 metres from the walls.

Wish I was there again tonight.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Same thing here in Lisbon.

Hope not to get such bad weather in late March/early April for my Caminho Português.

But, in the end, "A wet Caminho, it's a blessed Caminho" :)

Best Regards
Diogo

The layout and timing has changed inexplicably.

It is full of repeats.

Would like some enlightenment?

Why fix something that wasn't broken?

Not sure what you mean with "timing has changed" and "repeats". If you let me know I will try to explain. :)

I feel so sorry for the folk walking in the wind and rain.
Your webcam clip above is interesting Ivar because although it is 'still' it changes at each page view - day to night etc.

I depart tomorrow and knowing the potential weather ahead have added an extra layer of clothing, to help ensure I am warm and dry while walking. The additional clothing increases my pack (carry) weight from 16 pounds/7.25 kg to 17.6 pounds/7.98 kg., which is about 9% of my body weight. Do you agree the additional weight is probably an acceptable trade-off for the certainty of being able to stay warm and dry?

IMO yes and yes again :)
Stay warm and safe and Buen Camino

Just because it is wet and windy today, doesn't mean it will be so in a week or two weeks. You might be lucky leaningforward. Enjoy whatever comes, Buen Camino Janet.

I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Money stolen from bag on bed while sleeping. Estelle municipal hostel. Not a big inconvenience as my passport and credit cards were left.
