I'm the proud new owner of a pace maker. Any forum members that have walked the Caminos with one. Problems or advise?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I do not have a pacemaker but work with them frequently. I would talk to your cardiologist before you set out on the trip. As you know there are so many different reasons for people to have pacemakers so the advice would be specific to each individual. What I would recommend you do is have a copy of the pacemaker details with you, the settings, the make and model, is it a simple pacemaker or an ICD/pacemaker, single lead or dual lead etc. and then make sure you have a copy in a pocket, no just in your backpack so that if there were problems those trying to help have the information they need quickly. A medic alert bracelet might be a good thing to invest in.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

In my case my pulse stayed at 35 :( one year post cardiac ablation. Now running at 60 plus :). The cardiologist put in a "Boston" pace maker I belive its a duel lead. It has a sensor built in the will speed up my heart with increased demand. I've only had it for 3 days and have not had time to address a medical alert tag or a TSA card. My concern is that the pocket for the PM is right where my pack strap rests. My cardiologist is aware of my walking the Caminos and said he had no problems with my going next May. So I'm just checking if other pilgrims have any issues or problems with their PM on their Caminos. This is new territory for me.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Never even thought of where it would be sitting in relation to your pack straps. Pacemakers themselves have come so very very far. I wish you well on your Camino.

Do you still need to be careful around microwaves?
That would be my only concern...
I have to stay 1 foot away from a microwaves. Add to that cell phones. Have to carry mine on the right and listen 0n the right. No MRIs, a important medical diagnostic device. No walking through airport security devices. Oh joy a pat down and a wand. Buen Camino

I know the first one I saw was about the size of a old wind up pocket watch and about 2" thick and they put them in a abdominal pocket.. Thank you for your response and Buen Camino.
