Welcome, very interested to know how much snow if any you encounter going over to Roncevalles. The weather can change very quick up there but that is what makes it interesting on the first day.

I wish you well walking at this time of the year. Be yourself and all will be well, but you probably know that already. Do you want to push the boat out? Cancel your reservation in hotel and simply arrive, yes difficult to do, but what is the worst that can happen!!!

Worst that can happen? Sleep outside in the snow, I suppose....
What's wrong with having a hotel reservation in SJPdP?

I suppose I said this as this was first post by pilgrim and I assumed they know a bit about walking. Nothing wrong with hotels etc but if they wish to meet "totally new arrivals open to the way" on the Camino this might be the opportunity, as I doubt local albergues will be completo at this time of year so no worries about race for beds.
