Central route, Lisbon to Porto

Time of past OR future Camino
Portuguese (2016)
Hi to all who choose this route, or are thinking about it...I'm starting this thread so as to have a dedicated area for this less traveled part of the CP. I'm not the expert by any means (starting my caminho Sept 1, 2016), but I do see a lot of discussions on the Porto>Santiago route (mostly coastal), and the info on Lisbon>Porto is scattered, at least from my limited view.

I hope this makes sense and I'm not overstepping. Bom caminho, Steve

Hi Steve,

Will contribute here as much as I can before and during. Walking from Lisbon to SdC in a few weeks. Thank you for this.

Cheers,
Simeon

Thanks Simeon. I'm not sure yet that it's not just redundant, but I really can't find centralized info on this route. We'll see how it goes.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

Hi stepnote. Have you seen the forum guides in the resources section? The one from Lisbon to Porto has the input of a lot of recent forum members. There are lots of forum members who have walked from Lisbon. And if you have specific questions, ask away!

And don't miss the very new albergue in Alpriate, run by the Via Lusitana, the caminho Angels from Lisbon. It's about twenty kms from the cathedral , so it's a perfect first stop!

Let me know if you have trouble finding the guides.

thank you, Laurie. I had looked around in there, and I did download the guide, it's very useful. Do you think that it's still the case that roughly 75% of the Lisboa to Porto walk is on paved roads? Steve
