I don't know how long in advance you can book a hotel room.

Try less than 90 days from your dates of travel.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles

I would try to relax even - worst case scenario - you and your group arrive in SJPdP without any booking/reservation - the pilgrims office will still help you to find a place to sleep. Not all of you will be in the same place, and it might be a more simple accommodation than you would have liked, but they will not let you sleep in the street ;-) Buen Camino, SY

I have just checked on booking.com for early July. It is showing properties with space available for 10 pax up to the night 12/13 July.

If that doesn't work, in addition to splitting the group over a couple of properties you might consider finding accommodation in one of the nearby towns, and getting a bus or taxi to SJPP on the morning you depart.

Pre-order, pre-book, pre-arrange pre-recorded..................drop the "pre" it ain't necessary!

Yours sincerely,

Pedentice Pete

If all else fails and your timetable permits, you could stay in Bayonne instead of SJP and take the train to SJP in the morning and start walking then. Bayonne is a big town with plenty of accommodation but I would still advise making an advanced booking (if that s not a tautology) using booking.com or some other site.

[QUOTits.your numbers I think. Direct contact offering substantial cash deposit might do the trick. Othereise Airb&b.
