from Madrid to Ferrol by bus or any other transport ways?

Dear Pilgrims, hi! Buen Camino!
Need your advice
We are going to walk our third Camino (after Primitivo and Portuguese Coastal) and decided to do Ingles from Ferrol to Santiago-Muxia-Fisterra.

We don't want to fly from Santiago to La Coruña so we try to find other ways how to get to Ferrol. Found that it's possible by Alsa bus from Madrid to Ferrol (7 hours with 3 stops).
Has anybody tried this? If yes, how it was?

Could you please tell us your transport decisions?
Thanks a lot to everybody! Ultreia

NB: we can fly from Moscow to any Europe capital e.g. to Paris or Madrid

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I took the bus from Santiago to Madrid once; it goes by way of A Coruna, which is one of your stops. It was the worst travel experience of my life (except for Air France in general)! The reverse is not likely to be better, but my trip was overnight. Your plan may be a daytime trip.

ooch, I understand
our aim (and problem as I now understand) is to go TO Santiago but not through or from it while going to Ferrol.

How much time did it take to go by bus from Santiago to Madrid to you? Have you ever do Camino Ingles perhaps? If yes, from where?
Thanks a lot!

Train from Madrid to A Coruna and then bus to Ferrol. However this too goes through Santiago. A complete alternative would be to travel via Oviedo airport and then take the (slow) FEVE train or the bus from there to Ferrol. Oviedo (airport of Asturias) is between Oviedo and Aviles and not in Oviedo itself. You would need to travel via Pravia to Ferrol.

oh, this is something
Oviedo we remember after our Camino Primitivo, so it's another nice possibility to come over
thank you so much!!!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Best way is Renfe train from Madrid Chamartin to Ferrol. The train to Ferrol does not pass through Santiago.

There are flights Madrid to La Coruña. No need to go via Santiago.

I wouldn't consider a bus trip that long when a much more comfortable train option is available.

The FEVE takes about 7 hours from Oviedo station, about 6 hours from Pravia, so other options might be better time wise. Great views and facilities on the train, but bring food and drink. For a Compostela you need to start in Ferrol, or no further on than Neda, to fulfil 100kms.

I took the Alsa bus from Madrid to Ferrol last September. I found the bus good, and 3 stops were enough for small breaks. But I like going by bus, and I also manage to get some sleep there:)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Great! Thank you so much! We also think about this variant, having found the info about 3 stops :)
Buen Camino!

Same trip, also overnight, was definitely in one of my top three worst ever travel experiences, worldwide, in 60+ years!!!
