VldP planning? This may be helpful

I'm planning my next Camino and it looks like the VdlP at the moment.

I enjoy Spring-time walking, wherever I am. Sadly, this Spring on the VdlP is too soon for me for a lot of reasons.

I'm not a great lover of hot-weather walking so I've researched the VdlP at other times of the year. I came across this site that I thought others might find useful.

Seems to me that an early/mid September might be a good time to walk for me, temperature wise. I would miss the Spring-time flowers but hopefully get the late Summer early Autumn harvest colours.

If you have walked from Seville early/mid September previously I would welcome your comments, views, advice and opinions.

I walked the vdlp leaving Seville on 18 September last year. The autumn colours were beautiful...but for the first three weeks it was still very, very hot in the afternoons. Up in the 30s. (I don't know if this was typical temps for that time of year or unusual).

So it was early starts in the morning and a lot of water to be carried on those stretches with not a lot of facilities/services.

That said, it was a great walk...Buen Camino.

I've walked several times in September. As Levi said, it can still be hot during the day, but it's often cool in the morning and at the end of the day. Definitely layer. If you want cool weather guaranteed, go more toward the end of October/November. I've also walked in November, and while it can be a little wet, the temperatures are perfect -- not too hot, not too cold.

Is it still possible to get your wonderful VDLP App for my Iphone. I used it often in 2012 but recently changed phones and have lost it.
It is still on my Ipad but I'm not taking that when I return in April.

I am now getting nervous...I planned on expecting hot whether for my Camino May through early June. Meaning that I didn't plan on pants, I didn't plan on a sleeping bag, I didn't plan for a jacket. Now, I'm having the typical pre-Camino jitters after looking at the above link. If I change plans, then I need to find and buy all of these things, plus a bigger knapsack to carry them!

Long trousers you can do without but if sleeping in albergues you'll need something to sleep in, do you have a sleeping bag liner?
I walked in June and the temperatures were very high (around 38 deg) but on reaching Salamanca, it turned cold (12 deg) and it rained. It turned very hot again around Ourense.
I would take one warm layer - light fleece/very light windproof jacket?
Only suggestions, you'll probably be absolutely fine with what you've packed.

That temperature chart sure is useful. But then again it snowed in Madrid last week.
I never go anywhere without my 500g down sleeping bag, no matter what the season. It's flipping horrible being cold at night.
