My husband and I are planning on doing the last 100K starting October 12th. Our preferred accommodation would be a private room with share bath. How available is this and are them usually air conditions.

Hi and welcome.
I guess you are referring to the Camino Frances?
Regarding airconditioning : don't worry because by that time temperatures will have cooled down enough ( especially in Galicia ).

And the Gronze website gives you an idea about the private rooms. From Sarria on there are more than enough available in every price range.

Booking through booking dot com is possible although it is worthwile to call the hotels directly and get a better price.

You can check climate conditions om www.aemet.es for Sarria and Santiago, once you are ready to start your Camino. The weather at that time of the year may be fresh during the nights and mornings; pleasant during afternoons. However, Galicia is known to be the wettest province in Spain, so you may need proper gear. Most albergues have blankets available (manta) if it's cold.;)
