The Camino Frances will remind you of California....500 years ago! 😎. You won’t be walking alone, though, since plenty of pilgrims still out there in October

Exactly!

When you walk along the meseta during fall; it is a beautiful California sun burnt brown.

Once in Galicia the landscape is Northern, California green.

Buen camino from farther down south.

Hi,
I am planning on starting from Pamplona on October 21...I couldn’t figure out how to add myself to the calendar. I am very nervous and traveling solo and would love to meet people!
Welcome, Barbara. You will certainly meet people! Your first day is a lovely one, just mind your step on the way down from el Perdón. If the lavender is not finished, take a little sprig as you pass through Obanos...1568859548154.gif 🙂

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hola Barbara, i am from Ojai on the Frances now, in Castrojeriz. Nothing to be nervous about. Also walking solo so far nothing but wonderful walking, people and food! Just go with the flow and ENJOY!! Buen Camino🚶🏽‍♀️😊

Many are nervous at the start, traveling solo or not. That will go quickly as you are welcomed to the Camino. Happy trails from a longtime Santa Barbaran!

Hi Barbara, what an exciting adventure you're going to have! No worries, though, there'll be plenty of other peregrinos to meet & walk with if you choose. Walking solo for some stretches can be a wonderful experience too -- Savor each day & the discoveries it brings!

Obanos has a lovely community dinner if you overnight there.

Hello Barbara.... not sure when you’ll get this. I’m on the camino now. Started Oct 18 from St Jean but have had to take some rest days do to a bad boot lace tie that allowed my toes to rub up on the front of my boots and blister under a couple toes. I’m likely restarting from My couple days of rest in Najera tomorrow (October 30th). Message me here and maybe we can share a meal.

Dean,
I’m in Belorado tonight. I have no idea about tomorrow!
Brilliant!! You are ahead of me now! I’m only going to Azofra tomorrow with the way these toes are. Going to be doing short days until they get sorted and the nails come off. My long days are about 25-30km tops. How’s the trip been so far?

That is true. Quite a bit of the terrain of the Frances reminded me of California.
