Starting tomorrow!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Reservations aren't really necessary in winter, but should call ahead to see if a place is open, especially when there are not many other options, like in small villages.

Hi everyone,
I am a first time pilgrim from Canada, arriving in SJPDP today, and starting my walk tomorrow. Filled with a mix of anticipation and nerves! Anyone else walking during this time also?
Kind wishes,
Toni
Buen Camino, Ultreia and enjoy 🍀

All will be good, don’t worry, just do. 🙏 Buen Camino!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Dress warmly.

Buen camino.
Really cold, wet and windy walking to Estella yesterday. Be prepared, very few bars/cafes open along the whole way.

Thank you! I definitely will. Do you know how far in advance I need to make reservations for the albergues in winter? I have reservations for the first few days but that’s it so far.

I went October to December 2012. Reservations? Never. A lot of Albergues were closed for the season. Usually the only ones open were in the larger towns ... so I planned on stopping in those places. In Galicia most of the Xunta operated albergues were open and were reasonably comfortable. Its better to stop earlier than end up walking after sunset ... because that really is a recipe for getting lost.

Yes, I have started to realize that there is little open in between the main towns! I now take nuts, fruit, and sweets with me for snacks in between. Helps to stay warm :)

I can’t imagine walking at night. I’m barely coordinated enough to walk the Camino during the day

We had the Pilgrim dinner in Santo Domingo tonight at a restaurant called Wonderlust. Excellent food and atmosphere.
Definitely a 5 out of 5!!!
It is new and just past the Cathedral on the right.
Out of 60 days (over the years) on the Camino, definitely the best owners, atmosphere and food.
