I would suggest to start in Sint Jean Pied de Port, it is only 7 km further but later you will regret this if you don't. It is easy to find transportation from Pamplona station to SJPP or to find parking place at SJPP.

Due to work and not making time free for training I walked 4 x 12.5 km as training. With the idea to use the first week of the Camino as training.
