If I may reply? For a long time, the majority of guide books have all invited pilgrims to take a special token. The Film 'The Way' (and others) had a scene where they leave their personal tokens at the Cross. We're invited/reminded to do so by people all around the word when they know we plan a...
Corned Beef - This is obviously a forum for members to post and read articles. This was a female Pilgrim beleaguered by a man. She has a right as a member to express her concerns over her experiences - whether good or bad. The police can decide if there is a case to be answered or not, not other...
Dear mfmaroto
my sincere best wishes to you after your unpleasant experience, which was also physically abusive and should be reported to the police on AlertCops (if you have the app), or at your next stop. No one should have to experience such aggressive behaviour - regardless of any language...
Hi Glenshiro.
I hope this uplifts you and restores your confidence: In Spring, I had three doctors opinions for my knee:
1. I must have a full knee replacement
2. I must have monthly cortisone injections as there was nothing they could do for me
3. I must have remedial work on my knee and...
Look deeper. Question yourself. To learn and discover things about ourselves and others and to find meaning is the reason why we are on Camino, even if we don't know it. How we deal with these issues - or don't deal with them, is what it's all about. For me, anyway.
Just a little anecdote:
I lost an aluminium water bottle at the municipal in Logrono, then saw it a couple of stops further down the way (I'd marked it so recognised it). A pilgrim had it!
And whilst at the Logrono municipal I was as good as accused of stealing a phone from the previous...
Thank you for posting this article. I think it's an inspirational 'must read' for those hoping to go on Camino, and poignant for those who have already walked the Way. It reminded me of many things that I've tucked-away deep in my memory, and of the blessings disguised as challenges we can...
Hi Profpanwors
The Primitivo is the one route where I was caught-out by sudden and bad weather. This was going over Hospitales after sunny and clear stages beforehand. The freezing wind and rain hit very quickly and hard. It is the only time I have been concerned on a camino route but as we...
There are terrible rip tides so stick to the beaches where the locals say it is safe to swim. I'm not sure if there is a tourist office in Finisterre but if so ask them about activities. Enjoy and stay safe.
Ultreia, Keith
I'm sure it must be a delicate topic throughout the region, as it is in some other European tourist ports, but for me this is a tourism issue which, hopefully, won't affect pilgrim accommodation or routes. More concerning for me is seeing minibus loads of tourists turning up at pilgrim...
Hi NomadBoomer
I recently checked such tabs on sale in a local supermarket. I require magnesium all the time and buy pharmaceutical quality powder which I only need take bi-or-tri monthly.
The thing about the much cheaper tabs that I checked last week is that you should examine the complete list...
I have ACops on my Android, no problems, but a friend is having problems finding it for her iPhone on App Store - I am sure it must exist for iPhone - any advice ? She leaves for the Portuguese soon and would like to have the App.
Thanks
If you have a health issue which does not allow you to properly absorb vitamins and minerals I would suggest you talk to your doctor and get some medically approved magnesium power from a pharmacist. Its stronger and more suited to such health needs. If you just want a small daily boost of...
