    Need to ship stuff home

Hola Pilgrims. I need to ship some extra weight home. Viana has a Post Office, which is where I’m heading. Will they have packing supplies there, ie: small box or bag, tape? Any help is appreciated. Buen Camino!

Need a second Passport (credencial) in Estella

I’m heading into Estella today. I’m needing to get a 2nd credential for stamps. Can anyone advise how, or where I can pick one up? Thanks.

    Thank you, Forum.

I leave tomorrow from the US to SJPDP to begin my Camino (Francés). Just want to say “Thank You” to this Forum; I’ve gotten many good ideas, and several questions answered. Hope to report back. Buen Camino! I feel like a baby bird finally flying the nest.

    Poncho in SJPDP?

Ok Pilgrims, quick question. I just paid $39 for a Poncho at a local outdoors store and I’m already planning to return it, because I just saw another Pilgrim say they only paid €4 for one on the trail. So my question is if they do, in fact, sell ponchos in SJPDP for that kind of price. Please...

    Night Hikes / Star Gazing

Ok, Monty here. Love starting these threads: I learn so much from the Veteran Camino Pilgrims. Thanks in advance. My question: are there so called “Night Hikes” in certain regions to get out and view/explore the awesome stars and constellations on clear nights? I’ve heard about this a few...

    Bar Etiquette

Ok Pilgrims, I’m starting my first Camino (Frances) in a little over 2 weeks and am “wrapping up” my miscellaneous questions. This is a little trivial (no snarkiness, please): I’m a solo pilgrim. If I stop off at a Bar or Cafe and want a beer or something, do I “seat myself” and a Server comes...

    When should I stop training?

First thing: this is not a health question. I would seek my doctor’s advice for that, not a forum. I’ve been hiking, stretching, etc. for almost a year in preparation for my Camino. I was wondering what the pilgrims with Camino experience thought about not hiking or walking right up to when I...

Should I bring my own Mercado bag?

Sorry if this seems trivial, but I leave in 26 days for my first Camino (Frances). I’m finalizing my backpack items figuring what makes the honored Final Cut. Question: I was gonna bring a reusable lightweight bag for the trips I might make to a supermercado for food items. Should I do this, OR...

    Heads up: Albergue scam?

I’ve gotten 2 separate emails over the past week supposedly from the Albergue I’ve made my reservation from in Pamplona. I’ve sent a confirmation request to the Albergue in a separate email from an email address I found from the actual Albergue. It confirmed my reservation and everything was...

Arriving in SJPDP on 23 April 2024

Good morning. Anyone arriving in Biarritz airport on 23 April 2024? I just booked a shuttle from the airport to SJPDP with Express Bourricot. The more pilgrims on the shuttle for the ride, the cheaper the price is for everyone. Hope to see you. Buen Camino!

    Travel Insurance

Currently looking at getting Travel Insurance for my Camino starting April 23, 2024 until ? (Probably around beginning of June). I’m young, at 59, and have a pre-existing illness (although I don’t think that’s covered anyway). Any thoughts? Experiences? Opinions? Gracias.

    Crohn’s Disease

Anyone have experience dealing with Crohn’s Disease or something similar while hiking the Camino? I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease about 16 years ago, and on top of that, I had kidney cancer that was dealt with. My current motto has been: “I have Crohn’s, but Crohn’s doesn’t have me”...

    Carry-on packs

Hola all. Wanting to utilize the wisdom on this forum. I have to decide whether to take a 34 or 36 liter pack on my first Camino. I don’t want to check anything. Generally speaking, will this size pack be small enough, fully loaded, to take as Carry-on? Thanks!

    One-Way airline ticket

Hola Pilgrims! I’ve purchased a one-way airline ticket from US to Paris. The reason is simple, I think. I want to take my time hiking the Camino from SJPDP to Compostela. I don’t want to be beholden to a schedule. I don’t know exactly when I’ll be finished with my trek. Surely I’m not alone in...

    Using Express Bourricot.

Hola fellow Pilgrims! I’m new here on the Forum so forgive me if this is a terribly redundant question, but I just heard back from Express Bourricot and they quoted me €130 for a shuttle transport from Biarritz airport to SJPDP. I’ll be a solo hiker needing transportation on April 23rd, 2024...

Arriving in SJPDP on April 23, 2024, for my Camino adventure
